Students will also learn the types of clothes worn by the performers of this genre

Students will be shown videos that display Merengue--Bachata--Mariachi

Students will be encouraged to start a music research on a type of music of their choice.

This week, the students will present a country of their choice.

Travel Around the World

This week, the students will be exposed to two cities/countries. Barcelona, Espana and Humacao, Puerto Rico.

Students will learn how to order from a Spanish menu.

This week the students will be required to print or e-mail via google docs. their recipes to their instructor.

Instructor will model how to create a recipe. Recipe will be written in Spanish.

Students will choose their class members that they will work with on this assignment.

 

Tuesday: Nov. 29, 2016

Students will work on their own. They will navigate the web in search for their perfect recipe.

 

Wednesday: Nov. 30, 2016

Students will practice their presentations in Spanish. Instructor will assist those students who have difficulties explaining everything in Spanish.

 

Thursday: Dec. 01, 2016

Students will be required to e-mail their recipes no later than today by the end of their 3rd period.

 

Friday: Dec. 02, 2016

Recipe presentation. Instructor will play all the presentations that were submitted on time. Students who do not submit  their presentation will obtain an "F" on this particular assignment.

 

 

Going to the Supermarket

 

Students will learn conversations that take place during a visit to the supermarket.

Students will learn how to shop around and choose the best fruits, vegetables, meats, snacks and basics for the home.

 

Your child will continue to practice spelling, pronunciation, writing and fluency in speaking.

This week my students will learn about their health and how to care care of their personal hygiene.

Students will obtain the new vocabulary list and practice the correct pronunciation.  Also, the students will work on translating the vocabulary list into English.

 

Tuesday: October 25, 2016

Students will read to each other and read aloud to the instructor.

Students will practice spelling exercises.

Students will practice translating back and forth in both languages.

 

Wednesday: October 26, 2016

Students will work mainly on translating into both languages

Students will write down the Spanish expressions the instructor reads aloud.

 

Thursday: October 27, 2016

Students will correct spelling mistakes the instructor makes on purpose.

Students will create conversations in both languages so they can make a verbal presentation to the rest of the class.

 

Friday: October 28, 2016

Students will finalize their bilingual conversations.

 

Friday, October 21st, 2016 is the end of  1st, quarter.  Grades are due!

 

In an effort to help your child improve their grades in my class, I am going to have them complete a project. This project will include everything we have learned in class.

 

Your child will be required to present it verbally in Spanish.

This project will include personal information about them, such as...

*Their age

*School they attend

*Classes they currently take at school

*Favorite activities and so on.

 

This project is due on Thursday, October 20th, 2016.

 

Samples and more information will be provided to your child in class.

 

For this week, your child will learn daily activities performed throughout the day.

Also, your child will learn how to describe him/herself.

The goal at the end of this lesson is for your child to be able to introduce him/herself. Introduce another person and be able to describe his/her own physical characteristics as well as the person he/she is introducing.
