Dear 7th Grade Parent or Guardian:
Your child is being asked to be a part of our school’s California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) sponsored by the California Department of Education. This is a very important survey that will help promote better health and well-being among our youth, improve the school learning environment and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence. Your child does not have to take the survey. If you do not want your child to complete the survey, you must notify your school.

Incident at Saugus High School

Dear Lancer Community,

It is with all sincerity and sadness that I write to you today as another school shooting occurred this morning at Saugus High School.

We continue to work with our dedicated School Resource Officer, campus supervision and District Office to provide a safe environment for all students, staff and community. Our mental health and counseling staff intervene on behalf of students when any sort of challenge or adversity arises. Most importantly, the manner in which we treat one another is the most vital component to creating a safe environment for all. I have urged all of our Lancers that every relationship matters and investing into another person is one of the greatest gifts one can give. We strive to create a culture where all of our students know they have caring adults and peers they can trust and rely upon.

In our continued efforts to create a safe learning environment for your student, we have developed a comprehensive plan to respond to emergencies on or around the school campus. We will be conducting a fire drill on Tuesday, November 19. This drill ensures that students are staff are familiar with the school's emergency procedures. Please contact the office if you have any questions or would like additional information.
