8th gr. Science (Period 2) Assignments

Reminder that the Element Project is due this Friday.  You must have bring your display items either Friday, Monday.  Tuesday if item is perishable food.

 

 

Please keep checking the Grade Portal,  and do any missing assignments that are eligible for submission.  Also, ALL students are welcome to after school ROOM 305 for assistance and tutorials. 

Due Friday Oct. 18:    1.  Directed Reading Guide "Chemical Properties"  

                                   2.  Physical and Chemical Properties Identification Worksheet-  including                                                your developed models as evidence to your claim that substances are                                                either physical or chemical changes.

Due Thursday:  1.  "Tour of the International Space Station"  Google Document-

                                 5 Questions Asked:  Show 3 step modification from original brainstorm question                                     to Final Well -developed detailed, precise question.

 

                           2.  "Chemical Properties"   Notes    Annotated with Models, charts etc.

 

                            3.  SUMMARY:  Claim and Evidence (3)  to Question:  "In what way are Chemical                                      Properties different from Physical Properties?

1.  Measuring Mass of Solid Objects and SUMMARY: Describe the topic and skill you practiced in lab today.  Include the Vocabulary in the Word Bank.

2.  Textbook Section Review pg. 83  #1,2,3,4,5 

3.  Measuring Mass of Liquids and SUMMARY:  Explain the steps to follow when measuring mass of liquids.  Do work in a "Flow Chart"  

4.  Do the Quizzizz on Google Classroom as often as it takes to Master content.

Assignments DUE:  1.  Scientific Model of the Structure and Function of the Triple Beam Balance

                                      (drawing of structure, and labeling of the functional parts)

                                          * Shading and Cross-Hatching Art Techniques must be visible

                                 2.  Lab Data Sheet:  "Measuring Mass of Solid Objects"

                                         *Data must have unit  GRAM (g)

 

Period 2:  Work is due on Tuesday of next week because Friday there is a grade level assembly during 2nd period.
