You have class notes and Interactive Reader/Study Guide to use to prepare.   Know Definitions and be able to List examples for Chemical Reaction, Chemical Bond, Precipitate, Endothermic Reaction, Exothermic Reaction.  Be able to list:  the 4 SIGNS and 4 STEPS of a chemical Reaction.

Digital Presentations Due Feb. 17th.  "Element Advertisements"  
Premise:  You own a company that sells a particular element.  Your business model indicates that you will sell your product to a wide range of customers in various fields:  Medical, Technology, Manufacturing, Textile, and Entertainment industries.  Your Presentation must focus on the many USES and BENEFITS TO SOCIETY.  Must include a few disclaimers: The NEGATIVE IMPACTS in Society-that way you avoid lawsuits!  Hanging Mobile Advertisement, and slogan!
Possible Deliverables:   iMovie Commercial, Glogster digital poster, Prezi, Google Slide, Lucid Press Digital Magazine/Brochure, Lucid Chart Flow Map.

Element/Product Project  DUE:   Must have digital presentation (Google slides, Prezi, Infomercial, Commercial  etc.), a hard visual (bulletin board, business flyer, mobile, etc) You-Tube video (selected or created).

Due 1/13/17  Make Computer Model of atoms (hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, lithium) to be used as base templates.  These models will be used to discover patterns.  
Students will write declarative statements as they discover what is the effect on the atom when one variable is changed in the base model. Students will use model to explain their "cause and effect" claim and provide verbal and written logic to show claim is valid.

Semester Final will be on "What is Matter, Physical Properties, of Matter, Chemical Properties of Matter, States of Matter, Changes of States of Matter, Elements, Compounds, and Mixtures.   All students will be allowed to use their own Science Notes during the test.

"Open Notes" Chapter Test:  Changes of State
 
Use all our resources-class notes, textbook, internet for info and images, charts to validate your answers to the questions in CLASS textbook pg. 124.  The Deliverable (what you turn in)  is a Google Slide Presentation of each question.  Some questions are more challenging and require more info so you need to use more than 1 slide to provide evidence to your science claims.

Extra Credit!!!!     Make a DENSITY MODEL!
Watch this You-Tube video, "Density Tower"
You may work with a group of 5 or less or do alone with family.  Gather your material, follow directions and create a Density Tower!  You can use a empty water bottle instead of a glass.
For Class credit, take a "selfie" with your tower!  Or bring in to class
