Materials Required in Class Everyday:
- Pencils & erasers
- Spiral notebook: Buy three 70-page notebooks for the entire school year
- Book: CPM Core Connections, Course 2
- Red pens & colored pencils
- Protractor or transparent ruler
- Graph paper
- Scientific calculator: TI-30X IIS (optional)
Grading Policy:
1/3 – Assignments (33%)
1/3 – Quizzes (33%)
1/3 – Tests (34%)
All students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA (from 6th through 8th grade) in order to be eligible to participate in all end of the year activities for both 7th and 8th grade, including the promotion ceremony.
Citizenship:
Any student who receives more than one U (unsatisfactory) for citizenship may be excluded from participating in field trips and/or school activities such as the fall festival, the 7th grade beach field trip and Lancerpalooza. Students will receive a U for things such as:
- demonstrating inappropriate, disruptive and/or disrespectful behavior in class
- accumulating 5 or more tardies during the semester.
Assignments (Classwork & Homework):
- All assignments are to be completed in a spiral notebook, in pencil.
- Any assignment completed in pen will lose points.
- No late assignments will be accepted unless a student was absent.
- It is the student's responsibility to request and submit missed assignments immediately, upon return.
- There will be no extra credit assignments.
- Missing homework assignments can be completed for full credit only during after school math clinic.

Quizzes & Tests:
- All students are allowed one retake of any quiz or regular test.
- The retake grade will replace the original grade only if there's an improvement.
- Students may only retake quizzes and tests during after school math clinic with Mrs. Ponciano.
- There will be one mid-term and one final exam each semester (each worth twice as much as a test).
