Welcome

Dear Parents and Families,

As our 2019-20 school year begins, it is with great pleasure that I welcome your children to our classroom, Room 604. I am looking forward to teaching your student, as well as working with you, toward your student’s individual goals.
I believe that parent-teacher relationships are necessary for maximum student success. I encourage you to contact me regarding any questions or concerns that you may have regarding your students’ progress. I will respond promptly, however, not during instructional time. I am available for conferences, by appointment only, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 to 8:00 am, and 2:45 pm to 3:15 pm. Please contact me by school telephone (562-801-7570), email wkaszycki@erusd.org or send me a note in your student’s agenda.

Attendance
Students attend school from 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Every Wednesday is a modified day. Students are dismissed at 12:05 p.m. If you need to pick up your student during the school day, you must sign him/her out in the main office.

School Meals
Students will have an opportunity to purchase a breakfast and lunch on a daily basis. The purchase price is based on the breakfast/lunch application.

School Supplies
Students will need the following school supplies: pencils, crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks, wide ruled paper, tissue, and antibacterial wipes. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated; however, it is donation based only.

PE Clothes
If you need to purchase PE clothes, the cost is $20 ($10 for the shirt and $10 for the shorts). Please let me know what size shirt and shorts your student wears and I will make sure they get a set of PE clothes. If your student has PE clothes from last year that still fit, there is no need to purchase a new set.

Grading
The grade of pass/fail is based on the individual student completing and participating in daily classroom assignments within the standards-based curriculum specifically designed for special learners. The classroom teacher determines the grade.

Very sincerely yours,
William Kaszycki
